Terter Hotspring Bungalows
Offering a treat for travelers wanting to relax after a strenuous volcano trek experience Terter Hotspring Bungalows are located near Craig Cove Airport on top of a small rise overlooking a private coral and lava rock beach. Experience spectacular western sunsets as you relax in the natural geothermal rock pools beside the sea. The bungalows are also ideal for small groups, families and couples who want to have a romantic or secluded get-away. Sandy and his team are exceptional hosts – if there is anything you need – just ask.
Terter offers three comfortable bungalows on the small hill overlooking the ocean and one sits on the shoreline. Each bungalow has a double bed and outside veranda. The shared separate bathroom and toilet is both spacious and clean. It offers complimentary soaps and shampoos for bathing under a large and authentic ‘bucket’ shower. The bungalows also offer a full laundry service. Prices per person per night including breakfast – 2,550 Vatu.
Terter has an onsite restaurant overlooking the sea and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu includes fresh local chicken, locally caught deep water fish, shell-fish and lobster (when the sea is calm) and an array of delectable seasonal tropical fruit and produce. Ask Hellen, your cook, for her delicious green and ripe pawpaw salad and she will make this for you when in season. Dishes are served on Hellen’s cleverly woven local ‘plates’. Meals start at 500 Vatu each and are excellent value for money.
You may either walk 25 minutes through the marvelous tropical rainforest after you arrive at Craig Cove airport while a porter carries your luggage or request a transfer. Truck transfers to the volcano take around 1 ½ hours.
Terter Hot springs is a fantastic treat after your volcano trek - a long soak can be followed by an relaxing Melanesian- style massage.
Locally made carving and weaving is for sale direct from the artisan. Ambrym art is said to be some of the finest in Vanuatu.
